Reference on Fellowship with God and God is with us
We must have fellowship with God, because through that fellowship we can grow closer to the Lord.
If we look into the Bible, we see in Joseph’s life that God had many plans for him — but before those plans were fulfilled, he had to face many problems and hardships.
Even in those difficult situations, Joseph remained close to God. Not only did he stay with God, but he also obeyed everything God said, doing only what was right and pleasing in God’s sight.
When we read 2 Thessalonians 3:14–15, we understand that Paul teaches us to have fellowship with those who are holy in the Lord, so that we can learn from their lives and draw nearer to God.
But if we spend time with people who drink, curse, or live in worldly pleasures, then surely we will become like them.
That’s why fellowship is very important in our spiritual life.
The Word says that whoever remains in fellowship with the Lord becomes one in spirit with Him.
King Rehoboam did not take the advice of the elders but instead listened to those with whom he spent most of his time. Because of the wrong company, he destroyed his own life.
Therefore, it is very important for us to stay in fellowship with the Lord.
In Colossians 2:5, Paul says,
“Though I am absent from you in body, I am present with you in spirit.”
If Paul, being human, could be close to the believers in spirit, then think — how much closer is God to us when we draw near to Him!
Amen.
