Diligence Bible Referance

Bible Reference Verses – Diligence

Let us understand according to the Bible how continuing to work diligently in our lives leads to our spiritual growth, through which we become partakers of many heavenly blessings, and as a result, God is glorified.

The Bible teaches that those who become lazy do not reap their harvest at the proper time. If a person is lazy or half-hearted in his work, he may begin with great effort, but when the time for results comes, he withdraws. He thinks, “How much more should I work?” — and falls into laziness, stepping back. Therefore, when the time for harvest comes, he does not receive his reward.

That is why we must remain steadfast till the end — without worrying whether we will get the result or not — because the Bible says, “He who endures to the end shall be saved.”

Let us look below at some Bible reference verses related to diligence, laziness, and hard work:

  • Hebrews 12:12 – And let us not lose heart in doing good, for if we do not grow weary, in due time we shall reap.
  • Proverbs 16:26 – The laborer’s appetite works for him; his hunger drives him on.
  • Proverbs 19:15 – Laziness brings on deep sleep, and an idle person will go hungry.
  • Proverbs 20:4 – The lazy man does not plow in season; so at harvest time he looks but finds nothing.
  • Proverbs 20:13 – “Do not love sleep, or you will grow poor; stay awake, and you will have food to spare.”
  • Proverbs 21:5 – The plans of the diligent lead surely to profit, but everyone who is hasty comes only to poverty.

  • Proverbs 10:4 – Lazy hands make a man poor, but diligent hands bring wealth.
  • Proverbs 24:30–34
